EXTERIOR PAINTING
Painting the exterior of your home is a great way to not only improve curb appeal, but to also protect your investment from the elements and maximize your home’s value.
We know that the prospect of hiring a contractor to paint the exterior of your home can be daunting. Will you hire the right team? Will they show up on time? Will they do a professional job?
Our goal is not to be the one of the biggest companies, or to sell the most work, but to be one of the best. We strive to deliver the customer service that you expect everyday, but rarely receive. All of our decisions are made based on meeting this one goal… we will help guide and advise you through every step of the process, we will be upfront and honest with our estimate, and we will complete your project to the highest industry standards. And we won’t be done with your project until you’re completely happy with our final product.
You can also rest assured knowing that we offer a 2-year guarantee on all labor, and are fully insured and licensed with the State of Minnesota.
our approach to EXTERIOR painting projects
Our painting crews know exactly what to do to complete your project in a timely and professional manner.
Estimate
We’ll start the process with an estimate, during which time I’ll explain how this time, working with a contractor is going to be different. Then we’ll review your project and talk through your questions. After that, I’ll spend up to 48 hours after our meeting crafting a custom estimate for your project, that I will then share with you for review. Finally, after you spend some time reviewing your estimate, I’ll be more than happy to discus any questions you might have, as well as look for ways to align to your budget and expectations.
we will discuss the following during your estimate:
Level of prep work desired (to meet your budget and expectations)
Wood repairs
Whether or not you will want us to sand the boards where paint has peeled (helps achieve a more uniform look with our final product)
Free Virtual or In-Home Color Consultation
We offer a complimentary Sherwin Williams COLORSNAP Virtual or In-Home Color Consultation ($95 Value) with every signed Twin Cities Resurfacing contract. We want to take the guesswork out of picking paint colors!
Power washing
We will start by professionally power washing all areas of your home that will be painted. This will remove dirt, cobwebs and loosen up areas of failing paint. This step in the process will be scheduled in advance of painting, to allow for ample dry time.
REPAIRS & PREP
After thoroughly washing your home, we’ll move onto repairs and prep-work. If your home needs wood repairs, we would have discussed this during your estimate.
WOOD REPAIR PROCESS:
After you have contracted us to complete your project, but before we begin making wood repairs, we will walk the perimeter of your home together and determine all of the areas that need to be repaired. We will then mark them with spray paint so that our in-house carpenter knows exactly what needs to be repaired.
All wood repairs are done on a time & materials basis.
We will provide you with a ballpark estimate on the total number of hours and total cost of materials needed for repairs; and we will bill you for the hours and materials actually used to complete your project.
Next, we will caulk around windows and doors as needed, along with any additional penetration points. Then we’ll scrape any loose or peeling paint and spot prime bare wood as needed.
Lastly, we will cover and protect all surrounding surfaces that won’t receive paint. All of these steps ensure that your exterior is clean and prepped for paint to properly adhere.
Professional Painting
Depending on the exterior surfaces of your home, we will apply paint by brush, roller or spray, to ensure the best application. We only use professional grade paint and tools, and our techniques and applications ensure we complete your job as efficiently as possible while also yielding long lasting results. It’s worth noting that as professional painters, we never get paint on anything that wasn’t meant to be painted. We will also clean-up our work areas daily.
Clean-Up & Touch-Up
This stage of the process involves completing final touch-ups as needed and cleaning our work areas. We won’t leave you with a mess to deal with!
Final Project Inspection
We’ll do a final walk-though to ensure that you are completely happy with our finished product. At this point, you’ll sign off on project completion, only after which time we will submit our final invoice. It’s now time to start enjoying your home’s brand new curb appeal!
